Photographs of Virginia Merges Kletzer (1887-1982), 1920-circa 1949. Kletzer was a teacher, secretary, and librarian who served as the executive secretary of the Oregon Division of the American Cancer Society in 1948 and who was Oregon's first president for the National Congress of Parents and Teachers in 1943. The photographs include formal solo portraits of Kletzer and group photographs of the American Cancer Society, the National Congress of Parents and Teachers, Girl Scouts, March of Dimes, and other volunteer groups with which Kletzer was involved during the 1930s and 1940s.
